Is Canada a good place to Immigrate?

Duh! Obviously!
Okay, to be less facetious, it is a very good place to immigrate to.
  • Canada takes in a lot of immigrants for its size. The U.S. takes in more, but only because it’s 9 times as large.
  • Canadians are generally more welcoming of immigrants than other countries. A lot of that is because, no matter where you’re from, you will find someone else from there who is already here. However, even native Canadians of British extraction like myself are very welcoming to immigrants.
  • Canada takes in a large range of different types of immigrants for skilled positions. For example, Canada is about the only place on the planet where you can get permanent resident status to work as a domestic servant.
  • If you’re willing to work somewhere remote, you can make a ton of money, particularly if you work hard as well. One of my favourite reality shows is about a towing company in B.C. They hired a Fijian because he was willing to work in horrible winter weather in the isolated B.C. interior, whereas most native Canadians on that show who were also qualified wanted to stay in Vancouver which is not remote and has excellent weather. Trust me - Canada has a LOT of remote left.
